Daffodil Day at "The Farm"
It’s a blooming good cause

Thousands of golden daffodils are blooming at ‘The Farm’ inviting visitors to Daffodil Days, days of hope for all people touched by cancer. This spread of golden colour against the green of grass and trees leads to a country house where delicious foods will whet your appetite.

Hot home-made soups, hot fresh scones, straight from the oven, with jam and cream. To take home, choices of home-made chutney, marmalades, lemon cordials, and mustards, lavender handcrafts, ceramics and plants, offered by many volunteers helping to make your visit a memorable one. Choose between picking your own daffodils or selecting bunches prepared for your convenience. There is much to see – terraced vegetable garden, fruit orchard, camellias, roses and lavender.

The Farm will open on Daffodil Day, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd and Sunday 27th August to support the Cancer Council’s cause. The Farm is at 220 McGlone Road, Drouin, adjacent to the Drouin Golf Club and will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. See directions on how to get there and map below.

Every year, since 1996, Janet Blainey and her family have opened their farm to show off thousands of daffodils. Janet’s daughter, Tina, who will be helping out at The Farm this year, has been declared cancer free 16 years after her diagnosis with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Now married with two young children, Tina and her husband, Bruce, enjoy coming down to help with Daffodil Days.

Tina said, “I love helping on Daffodil Days each year with my family. It is a special time for all our family and helps raise funds for the Cancer Council”.

Janet and her family have raised over $35,000 over the last 12 years opening The Farm for the Daffodil Days and see it a way of continuing to say thank you, and bringing together family and friends to help out on the Days.

Entrance by $5.00 donation. Further information, please ring (03) 56253436.
